I don't see why people think Meursault is a horrible person. They think that he is very sadistic and non-emotional to all the different things around him. So if he didn't cry for his dead mother or cared that he killed a Arab. Death is just a part of life and each humans never wants to think that they will die the next day. When his mother died his childhood started to disappears from him even though he tried to hold onto it my calling her mommy. He started a new life with his old life, a new man, with many feelings that are indescribable, he made new friends and moved on from his past, and never looked back at why he didn't mourn for his lost mother. when he killed the Arab he didn't really care that he killed him. He doesn't dwell on the past and he starts to let go of all emotions from his new past life and look toward a new life. a life where he is alone and the feelings of being forgotten. He stopped receiving letters from Marie and they took away the attractions he had to the world, like cigarettes and "sex".
Meursault, is now living a life where his emotions are not strong enough to remember, his sadness and happiness is not strong enough to make him feel and anylse the world in those eyes. but the feelings of anger took over his body and bursted out uncontrollably. the one type of emotion devour the remains of Meursault from his past lives and now he wishes all the same to the rest. Things are more meaningful to those who are hated than loved. Happiness can be found anywhere but hatred can only be found underneath the thick layers of happiness. Since this world is filled with hatred with the divine judgment; by god or by humans this brings hatred to the world and that one feeling will be the one emotions that can never leave your body. happiness can be from many things but hatred can only be from oneself.
Meursault thinks that if people cry for him when he dies he can't do anything about it and will be forgotten in his new life. He can't stop things from happening but he can fuel the strongest emotion from the human mind and carve out the memories of the man who killed an Arab because he felt like killing that Arab 5 times over.
The one perfect life that Meursault wants is to life new lives with true feelings, to not forget and just move forward and to live a life with no regrets.

RE(New*):Post Blog (I ♥ Huckabees)
In this Movie I ♥ Huckabees is about one man who starts questioning about the world around him, he turn to existentialist which help him solve these problems which has grown inside of him and he never noticed in till now's. He become paranoid and finds himself detached from the rest of the world and still wondering who he is.
Through out this movie you would wonder about the different ideals since everything is together as one and separated at the same time. If one sits down they can figure out how they are connected and not connected to others. Some maybe orphans to war and some way be orphans from society. People might look the same once each of them felt the same emotions and lost inequality like the characters in this movie. Once each person lives their lives and know that they are actually watched by everyone of this world. the existentialist are the observers and watch the people and comment and try and help them. since each person has a funny way of looking through everything, is it good or bad; or does it matter or not.
Through this "human drama" that we as humans are pulled back to detaches ourselves from the rest of the world, like only this "drama" exist. People are detached since they as humans don't know what else they are doing at the same time. One might step on a plant or a rock and wont really care about it. All this drama is the world of humans life like a different dimension. All this human drama will sometimes make sense and sometimes not. people would wonder what they are agreeing to or they would wonder why they are buying this, since it is all human drama it is all apart of us and we are all together but in our own separate worlds at the same time.
As each person is think about these questions the question that describes the whole movie is "does everything in this world make sense?" Everything in this world makes sense since if we are all connected in this one bottle called the universe and separated as it is broken down to worlds, minds, and bodies. The rocks might talk and the wind might be the endless flows of ocean currents. The world makes perfect sense but the thing that ruins this perfect sense is humans and their question. Once something is questioned everything goes down hill and all things fall apart. Like in the movie as he questioned his life it all feel apart and never repaired since time can not heal wounds; there will always be a scar even if one doesn't see it. once people ask "how does this work?" or "what is the meaning of life", things go wrong since we as humans make these accusation that we know how everything works and runs. that everything can be solved. these questions lead to control and then the fall. humans try and control nature and everything living even other humans. people should just stop trying to question everything and just live it, since when one question comes up there bound to be another. All i can say in a few simple words without questioning more is "JUST LIVE!"

RE: Who is this guy?
Meursault, which ever way you pronounce it, is not a man of mystery; this man give you a view through his eyes, and the raw emotion is portrayed by you the reader. He gives you only certain parts of his life and makes you think about it. All the things said in class were the classes opinion not his. As a character he has no mind of his owns and as we were talking we the readers were the ones to spear, think, and breath for him.
Haven't you as a reader noticed that all the things portrayed as emotions as just the reality, since there was no way of showing it, he really wanted to show you what Meursault heard, what he felt to make it all real. Meursault never really had any reaction to what happened he pretty much did nothing. You are his brain and this mystery mans "island of subjectivity" is you the reader. His emotions and all his freedom and individuality is you.
If you don't believe me think about you watching people out your window. You act like a human but as you think about them and study them there is a voice in your head, which is not really yours. It might sound like you but it doesn't say the same words as you say to these people. When you talk and interact that voice is quiet. But when you just think that voice is full of ideas. Giving you suggestion and feeding you knowledge of what you can do. That voice is your inner self, which is apart but separated from you at the same time. Like Meursault that voice is a reader, who reads your thoughts of what you see and gives you raw emotions to feel like a humans.
His life might seem meaningless but it can be the best life you have. It follows Banach and he pretty much lives within that "island" and he has individuality. The things that must follow is his freedom and happiness. In the book don't you ever wonder why it starts with such a tragic moment in one's life. To have your own mother die and still have a attachment to her as a child. That might be where his happiness is, he might need a figure in his life like a mother, to help guide his and show him his happiness.
By looking at others blogs, they say they can't relate to the character or "most people can't", is it they can't or they won't; in this world many people don't want to accept the facts in life like Meursault, they will ignore it and move on. Is this meaning to live to ignore what you don't want to acknowledge, or to live life to the fullest and take on all challenges ahead, and never taking the road where there is no fog on the road and the air is all clean.

RE(New*):Post Blog 3:Responce to Part IIIand IV
In Banach's lecture he talks about how our happiness should come from inside of us and no place else. Everything around us are just things that give us fake happiness. But by looking through the island of subjectivity this happiness is not unique and individual. As he said that "we can choose" to what we want to incorporate in our own lives, but what we incorporate is not made by ourselves. If we get happiness from ourselves and our individualism from "choosing" to take this and that from others, that we are not individuals since we all gain happiness from each other and the origin is unknown. For example, Lets say Person1 is walking down the street and spots Person2: Person1 likes the shirt Person2 is wearing. Than Person1 goes and buys the shirt, but doesn't like it on him/her, but Person1 was still persuaded to buy the shirt over his/her free will. Some may think it is freedom, but actually the name brand made the shirt or clothes that way and stripes away their freedom.
By reading Banach's lecture many people will think they can connect with everyone else and still have their happiness. Banach tells that person has to find happiness through them selves, but no one knows if this island of subjectivity is real or not, people can spend years trying to finds his or hers own happiness. People's "inner" happiness can be the same or different, but humans need material objects that will fuel their happiness. There can be so much happiness in one self, till it runs dry, since happiness is different to each person. Each person have different feelings and different ideals and no one else will ever understand about this. What blue is red and red is yellow by each different mind. Even though we as humans may not ever truly understand each other, but we try to.
When you think about it if there is inner "happiness" shouldn't there be other "inner" emotions. there are millions of feelings and so many ways to describe it. Why does Banach only talk about happiness when there can be ecstatic which is different from happiness but also considered the same. If her address this small part of what we call emotions than Banach hasn't though of the whole thing and his ideals might not be true, since we as humans get sadness and anger and other types of emotions from something that fuels it and sparks the flames. We don't get these emotions just from inside of us since that will be meaningless.

The Existential Imagination
Think of the one place you think is perfect, where nothing can go wrong; the one image in your mind where no one can touch and taint. Have you ever though that, the one place that is perfect for you isn’t really yours, but actually was created from someone who is dead now and built it a long time ago.
Many people today love to think about what is the meaning of life, but not one person can answer this questions since we as humans has never been able to live as true individuals in our small existence. Thinking about how many people try and shape others life and force them into thinking one ways is wrong, and we as humans should think off many different individual ways and never one complete universal way to think about it. To express our opinions is a way to share and connect with others, each humans has their own way of adapting other stuff into their lives but all this is involuntary and no selected as a choice because of the human physiological state of mind.
In this world we as humans has wondered the world in search of the essence (essence: is the attribute or set of attributes that make an object or substance what it fundamentally is, and which it has by necessity, and without which it loses its identity, wikipedia) in our lives. David Banach talks about how we as humans has our existence precede our essence. But I think that our essence comes before our existence since before this great stage of evolution we as humans evolved from chimps to survive(which was out essence), so then we as humans has had our essence before our existence. then as time went on we gave each new human a reason to exist(in school or at home [any kind of forcing other humans]). Then each humans has their essence before their existence, and that we as humans or animals do not make out own essence but is made up for us. in this world we as humans can never define our essence or our existence(we can't choose when we are born it is chosen for us).
In this world we as humans are taught in school or by our parents to obey certain rules set buy society long time ago. You are always given choices as a kid thinking you have the power to choose (do you want your homework to be due tomorrow or on Friday?) it is never I want it due never or Monday. We are given a schedule and have to stick with it, even in college we think we can create our own lives but we still have to go to school and learn. You got to earn a certain amount of credits to pass. We as humans don’t have the right to explore by ourselves and learn about the world through fresh eyes. They feed us knowledge of this we don’t really need to know and drain our minds with grades or other materialistic objects thinking that it is actually helping society while it is just making it worst. David Banach never told us a way to be free he just gives very general ideals of “separating ourselves from the external world”. As he never noticed that he himself is stripping humans of their freedom as he has been taught himself.
Humans are very fragile beings and our happiness is no exception. David Banach states that we as humans can only achieve true happiness from inside of us (island of subjectivity) and not from external things. But I feel that, we need to get more than what’s inside of us to gain this happiness and freedom, since we are all empty items of this world and everything is external, but it all varies on different peoples opinions and ideals of this world, of what is true and what is false. He cannot define where each of us find our freedom or happiness since himself hasn't tasted the true happiness and freedom of this world.
For someone to really feel the true happiness or freedom of this world, will never be true, since we as humans must taste the feelings of sadness and anger in order to walk the path the true happiness and freedom. But the path stretches on longer than a humans live. each person must live their lives to their own will and not live the life that some old lecture talks about event though they are just his own ideals which might not me true. When David Banach talking about how each person has their own island of subjectivity might not be true since some people has attached themselves to the world to an extent that they have merged with others subconsciously and has lost their own opinions to the greater reason.
In this world no one is free, since each person is taught to believe in something from birth to death. “fight for your life for your country” or “gold will save you if you believe in him”. We as humans cannot run away from these visions of hope and happiness in our minds. This world has become so tainted that all threads of freedom and individuality has been striped away after the age of 1month old. When humans are born they have two roads ahead of them, either spoiled as children and given anything as long as it makes them happy, or take the road of death where their lives were not meaningful enough to keep them and either the child has to survive on their own and live the painful scars of life or die. Most children are given the path of riches, but not once has a child been able to choose the path for themselves. Each child is lead the path of whatever the parent or guardian thinks is right. Even then its not the parents our guardians choice since they have been influenced by the people around them and their own childhood. Nothing is ever chosen and everything is always just passes on like a necklaces from someone who died a long time ago.
Each different individual tries really hard to obtain their own freedom but it can never be true if there is someone or something leading your life and being a puppeteer of that section of your life. If there is something pushing a person toward a stay path or a fixed path than it is not their own happiness and freedom they are achieving but the happiness of the teacher or "god" (boss or other humans/things).
In this world we think there are two things right and wrong (good & bad). But in this world there is bound to be someone who will disagree since the whole world isn’t in sync. Everybody has been “taught” to believe a certain way, either a different or the same way. If someone says that they like Obama as their president and I say that I don’t since he is pressuring the united states too fast and is posing all these new things which strips away our freedom and individuality more then is it right or wrong? You can never choose since if there is at least one thing (plant and animals and other stuff are living things too and cant be excluded) in this world that thinks it is right or wrong and every thing thinks the opposite than it is right and wrong. So we as humans can’t say the words right and wrong since they don’t exist.
Looking at this now, I don’t even know what I am typing is true or not, it could be things that people taught me. Humans learn and progress, since don’t you ever wonder why you learn better doing things hands on than reading through a textbook. We have to explore the world and everything in it. Possibilities are limitless, so throw away our need to grasp the world through others eyes, and find out for ourselves. You don’t have to listen to this paper since I am only doing this for a good grade in class, to live by society’s rules and never to taste real freedom or individuality.

Part two: what is the point of our existence
Where in our lives do we find our existence,
As David Banach argues that in our lives humans "existence comes before our essence", since before now we never had a purpose before this time, but since we as humans evolve from monkeys or chimps then our essence is to evolve and live on in different climates and terrains. after our essence has dried our now and our new purpose has been given to us by our own kind. he says that each person can choose "to identify" ourselves, but we as humans cant identify ourselves since we all have natural essence in us.
Our "freedom" is not the question to be asking about, but how each individual is tied to this world by invisible strings that we can never break apart from, like gravity. Each of us will never have any freedom not matter which way you think of it. as long as there is someone controlling someone else actions there is no freedom, it is how our society runs. the higher powers or "gods" like David said will restrict all points of freedom, since in this society you need a job to earn money and to live a good life style, and they "teach" us that we don't want to have a bad life style like those who live in the streets. then our"human nature" kicks in and makes us want to survive to what they taught us. he and all these other people might think that they have absolute freedom but my looking all around all his points are wrong and we will never have our freedom anymore as long as this society stands.
David also talks about how all these "objects" around us takes away our freedom but these objects gives us freedom, it just matters how each person use them, if they decide to use them. i feel that David just keeps saying the same points over and over again, since he talks about how if we "detach" ourselves from these materialistic ideal than we will gain freedom from out "inner self", but its all a lie. who knows that this world is what gives our individuality or not so i might be wrong but we will just have to evolve and find out as the essence of our lives.

Existential Imagination Homework One
While traveling we as humans observe and interact with different people, which builds and takes away our different individualism. There is no such think as "absolute individualism", as interpreted from David Banach. Each mind is different and by interacting with others you are "trying to understand" each other and taking away your own individualism.
"When you think of it, each of us is alone in the world." But even though it is true we all try and interact and to see whats in each others minds, we try and extend our knowledge pass our own skulls and thus adapting someones ideals and taking away our individualism. Each person has to be alone and not express their own ideals to others to separate themselves from the world and to stand out above the crowd. If each person in this world didn't talk to each other and just observed the world around them, they will have their own opinions, and no what others want them to think.
Even though this could be true, people can learn a lot from others by just watching what they do each day, and observe their behaviors. Then different ideals of how to lives or what to think about others, whats good or bad will affect a different mind. It all depends on how a person interprets it. In my opinion people have to be secluded from the world and to live alone with no other interactions but themselves to have true individualism.
